Chandrababu Naidu erects Polavaram first radial gate

Polavaram dam site: Erection of first part of first radial gate of Polavaram Irrigation Project completed by 10 am on Monday.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu performed puja before erection of the gate, at pillar number 40.

Each gate consists of eight parts. After attaching eight parts, the gate erection process will be completed.

There are a total of 48 such radial gates.

To operate these Gates, they are installing two hydraulic cylinders for each radial gate. The hydraulic cylinders have the capacity of 250 MT, each.

It will take at least 60 days to complete erection of each gate
