Vijayawada: “Arla Reddiah was a noble and humble theatre artiste. His demise is a great loss,” said the speakers who attended the condolence meeting held at Kowtha Purnananda Kala Vedika here on Monday evening.

Jyothirmayi Cultural Organisation and VTPS Cultural Association organised the condolence meeting and many theater personalities gathered to pay rich tributes to beloved artiste Arla Reddiah.

Arla Reddiah served to theater for the last 45 years as actor, make-up artiste and set designer. “Madhyamlo Manavudu”, “Badhyata”, “Blackmail”, “Paramatma…” are some of his playlets.

Reddy bagged many prizes for his best performance. Some of the artistes were introduced by him to the stage. Everlasting smile and humbleness were his great qualities.

Dr P Brahmananda Rao, Sanjeevi, Pilla Prasad, HVRS Prasad, Seeram Subrahmanyam, Anata Hrudaya Raj, Adivi Sankara Rao, B Nareen, Nandagiri Narasimaha Rao, B Narasaiah, R Mohana Krishna, Bayana Srinivasa Rao, P Nataraj, R Ananta Krishna, Silvester, Bharadwaj, Vempati Ramesh, R Rajeswari and other stage artistes spoke on this occasion.

Daughter of Arla Reddy also participated in this meeting.
