The German carmaker is getting ready to launch the next generation BMW X6 in India. The X6 is BMW's flagship SUV and is the fourth vehicle in the X series line-up in India.
BMW has announced that it will be bringing the second generation X6 to India. The car will be officially launched in India on July 23 and will come as Complete Build Unit (CBU).
The new X6 will be 40 kg lighter than its previous model due to the use of high-strength steels, thermoplastics and aluminium. The weight distribution of the car will be evenly spread at 50:50 between the front and rear.
The Indian market will be getting the xDrive40d variant of the X6 which comes with a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine capable of producing 313 HP along with 630 Nm of torque. It comes with a 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to all the wheels.
BMW is planning on also bringing its X6M model to India. The X6M is a performance SUV which is powered by the M5's 4.4-litre V8 TwinPower Turbo engine. The X6M is seen as a rival to Mercedes GL63 AMG and the Range Rover Sport 5.0L V8.
