BMW Motorrad unveiled their a total of six new motorcycle at the at the 2016 Auto Expo. Among its showcases is the all important BMW G310R, a result of the collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS Motors.

The entry-level BMW G310R performance motorcycle is powered by a 313cc, DOHC, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that returns 34bhp at 9,500rpm, and 28Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Production of the naked street-bike will be undertaken in India in collaboration with TVS Motors. 2016 BMW G310R will be launched here later in the year.

The new BMW G310R naked street bike is designed and engineered in Germany and is being manufactured in India by TVS Motors. It will be exported from here. Manufacturing in India will aid in localisation to ensure a competitive entry price point. New BMW G310R design language draws from the new S1000R, and weighs in at 158.5 kg.

BMW G310R is an entry level performance motorcycle segment offering and will take on the likes of KTM Duke 390, Yamaha MT03. The BMW G310R will lay the groundwork for the TVS offering codenamed TVS U69. The TVS sportsbike will be a fully faired offering to ensure it is visually quite different from the BMW G310R naked street bike it borrows from. Both bikes are to be manufactured at the TVS Hosur plant and will share components.
