The price slash is expected to result in a significant sales spurt.Following the Delhi government’s relaxation of excise duty for hybrid cars from 24% to 12.5%, the Toyota Camry has received a significant price slash of INR 2.3 lakhs. The premium hybrid sedan has been doing well in the market ever since the FAME subsidy came into picture. Toyota deciding to pass on the excise duty concession benefits to the customers makes the D-Segment sedan even more appealing.
The revised ex-showroom Delhi price for the Camry Hybrid stands at INR 30.9 lakhs which is not far from the regular petrol variant which continues to retail at INR 30.28 lakhs. The not-so-significant price difference and the perks enjoyed by hybrid cars during the occasional odd-even spell are expected to be major growth driving factors for the Camry Hybrid in the NCR. The Delhi diesel ban further improves the hybrid Camry’s prospects.
The normal Camry petrol variant continues to be priced at INR 30.28 lakhs.The hybrid powertrain comprises a 2.5-litre petrol engine which produces 160 PS and 213 Nm of torque, and an electric motor which is good for 143 PS and 270 Nm of torque. The combined system output stands at 205 PS. The car can operate in pure electric mode.
The equipment list includes 7 airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, ECB, rear camera, smart key, touchscreen infotainment system, 3-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, ORVMs and steering with memory setting, and so on.
