Apparently the price was leaked by Datsun India website.Datsun Redi-Go is all set to be launched in India on 7th June. Less than five days before its launch, an image has surfaced on social media which claims to be a screenshot taken from the company’s official website. As per this image, price of Datsun Redi-Go starts from INR 2.39 lakh.
The same page no longer seems to display the price of Redi-Go on their website. It is unclear whether the screenshot is real or fake. We are awaiting company’s response on the same.
If this image is not fake, this means that the new Redi-Go will be India’s third affordable car, after Tata Nano and Maruti Alto 800. It will be cheaper than the Renault Kwid by INR 13k, which is priced at about INR 2.62 lakh.
Based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A platform, one thing is for certain that the Redi-Go will be priced really aggressively. Not only it will have to rival sibling Renault Kwid, but also the updated Maruti Alto 800 which has now become even more affordable.
Pricing the Redi-Go aggressively will be possible because of the heavy localization levels. Just like the Kwid, Redi-Go too has a 98% localization level, making it the second car in India to have such heavy localization level.
Powering the Redi-Go is a three cylinder 799 cc naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine generates 54 PS and 72 Nm via 5 speed manual transmission. It claims to deliver 25.17 kmpl.
