The Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L adventure tourer which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 is slated JATO Dynamics has released the list of best-selling cars in the world for the first quarter of 2016. The list looks significantly different from the last year’s one as several all-new and new gen models entered the scene.

Whoever comes and goes, the unshakable Toyota Corolla continues to be the global sales leader. In the first quarter, the popular sedan managed to clock 261,000 units across the globe, a growth of 5%.

It’s safe to say that the dieselgate scandal hasn’t affected the VW Golf’s popularity much as it gained one place to seal second with a sales figure of 224,000 units. As its rebadged sibling, the Chevrolet Enjoy, faces the axe in India for being a sales dud, the original Wuling Hongguang MPV proved to be the most popular car China and has emerged as the third best selling car in the world for Q1 2016 with a tally of 222,000 units!

The iconic Ford F150, the most popular pickup truck in America, has lost the podium finish to the Wuling just by 7 units! The India-bound Nissan X-Trail managed to become the best selling crossover in the world (5th overall). The Honda HR-V and CR-V sealed 7th and 9th places respectively.

Best selling cars that are also being sold in India include the Toyota Camry (11th), VW Polo (12th), Hyundai Elantra (14th), VW Jetta (17th), Honda Jazz (19th), Suzuki Swift (21st) and the upcoming Hyundai Tucson (25th).
