Express Bike Wash (EBW), the Mumbai based start-up funded by legendary emerging markets guru, Mark Mobius and ah! Ventures is all set to take on the South-East Asian market. With incorporation of an independent sister concern - EBW Indonesia, it has announced an undisclosed round of angel investment for the same from Edmund Tan, co-founder at Crowd Source Asia.


Developed indigenously by the IIT and IIM trio Niraj Taksande, Bhushan Karn and Jigar Vora, EBW is a fully automatic motorcycle wash machine that can clean any motorcycle in under two minutes. After serving over 1.2 lakh motorcycles since inception, the company views scaling the concept to Indonesia and Vietnam would address issues similar to India.

“We truly believe that this machine will bring a revolution in the Indonesian motorbike cleaning market,” says Kailash Raghuwanshi, the firm’s director of global operations. “We are excited about the huge market opportunity, and are looking forward to hearing from potential partners and clients so as to tap it together.”

Meanwhile, EBW India, started with its ‘One stop motorcycle care' brand EBW store from Mumbai in Nov 2014 has over 6 touch points since the last three months. Additionally, it has signed up 13 franchisee in various cities that would go live soon and aims to reach 100 by 2016. EBW has worked on its manufacturing capacity and has tied up with third parties for nation wide after sales service to support the projected growth.
