Medical reps on one-day strike today
The medical representatives and sales promotion employees are going on one -day strike on December 16, to push for their long pending demands including aggression and exploitation by multinational pharma companies.
Hyderabad: The medical representatives and sales promotion employees are going on one -day strike on December 16, to push for their long pending demands including aggression and exploitation by multinational pharma companies.
Telangana Medical & Sales Representatives' Union (TMSRU) said in a release that it has served strike notice to the employers besides state and central governments.
They are demanding for price reduction on emergency medicines and removal of excise duty besides reviving the public sector pharma companies.
"We are opposing to 100 per cent FDI into the pharma industry, as it will raise the drug prices depriving the common man to use the essential drugs," A Nageshwar Rao, TMSRU, President said.
The medical employees will observe one-day strike all over the country under the banner of Federation of Medical Representatives Association of India (FMRIA).
