Tirupati: The third phase of ‘Mana Gudi’ programme will be launched on Wednesday, the auspicious day of Shravana Pournami, which happens to be Rakhi Pournami. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) made elaborate arrangements for this prestigious event. TTD Public Relations Officer T Ravi Kumar said that in coordination with endowments department, the TTD has successfully conducted ‘Mana Gudi’ programme in two phases on August 2 and November 28 last year, in 13,242 and 17,536 temples respectively.

He reviewed the arrangements for the ‘Mana Gudi’ event with field officials on Tuesday. “We are organising this mass programme on Wednesday and see that this is conducted in more number of temples across the State with public participation. Over 20,000 temples are participating in this programme,” he said.He said that preliminary meetings with the top officials of the endowment department and Collectors were held by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTDauthorities in a phased manner to make this mass programme a big success.

Ravi Kumar said that the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad officials had already completed the formalities like release of posters and training to archakas. Already, events like ‘Alaya Shobha’ – giving a face-lift to the temples located in Dalitwadas - was conducted on August 7; distribution of pamphlets and spiritual discourse on the importance of ‘Mana Gudi’ was done on August 1; Laksha Kumkumarchana was performed in all the temples of the State on August 12; Gopuja in all the temples on August 14; recital of spiritual poems with students across the State on August 15; Mass Varalakshmi Vratam in all the temples across the state on August 16 and Satyanarayana Vratam on August 17 in all temples across the State.
