Chittoor:The Samaikyandhra movement has completely gripped the district with road blockades, forming of human chains, protests and dharnas on Tuesday. While the local MLA CK Babu led a motorcycle rally by the Students-Joint Action Committee in the town, the employees of various government departments and businessmen organized rallies on scooters and formed human chains. Various government departments including the Collectorate wore a deserted look as the staff joined the agitations.
In Chittoor town, more than 200 autorickshaw drivers held a protest rally under the leadership of district deputy transport commissioner Basi Reddy.
Employees of the Electricity department organized vanta vaarpu programme and raised slogans against bifurcation. In Madanapalli, local MLA Shajahan Pasha led a protest rally. More than 18,000 teachers are likely to take part in the agitation.
