Besides music albums, the actress also did some item numbers in Hindi movies after which she was dubbed as the next big thing. However, she didn't get the kind of offers that she expected which the actress blames the industry as being biased. She's also hosted several reality shows on Indian television like 'Bigg Boss', 'Rakhi Ka Swayamwar', 'Nach Baliye 3', 'Rakhi ka Insaaf' and 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh'.
She became more controversial after she openly criticised her family on her show. Her Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, in which she got to choose her would be husband, earned huge TRPs. Although Canada-based Elesh Parujanwala an NRI managed to woo Rakhi and win her heart, the relationship did not reach the next level.
