That Anushka will romance the Superstar has been hogging he headlines for the past few weeks, but the latest we hear is that there is room for another heroine and if sources are to be believed, B-town beauty Sonakshi Sinha is tipped to bag the coveted role.

In the past, Sonakshi has expressed her interest to be featured in South films and was almost set to romance Kamal Haasan in ‘Vishwaroopam,’ but the eleventh hour changes in the shooting schedules of the film prompted her to let go off the project. This time around, it is buzzed that she will not miss an opportunity to star in a film that sees Rajinikanth in the lead role.

Reacting to the bit of news, Rajini’s PR team was quick to issue a clarification. “Do not jump the gun on the casting of Rajini, Sonakshi and Anushka. The production team has held talks with a couple of actresses, including Anushka and Sonakshi, but it is too early to comment about the cast. ” To be shot predominantly in Mysore where a huge dam set is being erected, the film’s muhurat is expected to take place on May 20. Rajini’s good old Kannada friend Rockline Venkatesh will be producing the film, which will witness the Tamil icon playing dual roles. Ace technicians like AR Rahman and Ratnavelu (cinematography) will be working for the film.

Meanwhile, it is being said that Rajini’s ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ might release on May 1 instead of mid-April, but an official word on the exact release date is still awaited.
