The recent 3D film ‘Any Body Can Dance 2’ stormed the box office but ‘Baahubali’ director SS Rajamouli says he is not a fan of the innovative technology. "I'm not a big fan of the 3D format. 'Baahubali' is all about scale. 3D gives you scale but reduces the depth. I want my characters and visuals to be big and that's why I've shot in the 16:9 format," Rajamouli said.

"In some theatres which have bigger screens, you'll be able to see a bigger picture than the normal cinemascope formats," he said. None of the director's earlier films was in 3D, though there was a lot of buzz about Eega's dubbed version ‘Makkhi’ being released in 3D.
