Speaking in support of the 37-year-old actress, Producer Raghu Ram tweeted:
Those who abused @SethShruti only proved her point. Selfies is not the point. Respecting women is. My irony meter just exploded.

What followed next was a tsunami of hate tweets and trolls against the actress for the next 48 hours on the internet.
Though the former VJ deleted her initial tweet, she posted an open letter to the nation on July 2 explaining why she was against the campaign despite being a mother to an 11-month-old daughter.
