The release of Akhil Akkineni’s debut film ‘Akhil’ has been deferred indefinitely. The action-adventure, which was supposed to open in cinemas on October 22, had to be postponed following delay in CG (Computer Graphics) work. Clarifying the same to the media on Friday, Nagarjuna said, “I apologise to the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the film’s release.

It is disappointing but we took the decision in the best interest of the film.” The actor added, “I can’t give a revised date at this point of time. I want to ensure that all the work related to the film is over and I don’t mind waiting for the right time (smiles).”

When asked how Akhil is seeing the whole episode, he said, “He was naturally disappointed but was quick to realise that the decision was taken keeping in view the film’s quality.” Realising ‘Akhil’s postponement, the makers of Varun Tej-starrer ‘Kanche’ have decided to occupy Dasara slot (Oct 22) as their release date.
