“Gopi was looking for someone who will look perfect next to Varun and he could not think of anyone except Rakul, especially after having worked with her for ‘Pandaga Chesko’. The familiarity and trust in her prowess is one reason the filmmaker was keen to join forces with her again. Though he was in discussions with her representative for the past few weeks, it was only very recently that she has agreed to be a part of the project,” shares a source close to the development.Billed as a sports-based film with signature Gopi elements—action and entertainment— the film, a joint venture between Nallamalapu Bujji and Tagore Madhu, is currently in pre-production and is likely to go onto sets next month.
