A star-studded premiere for Cheekati Rajyam

Venkatesh and Rana will be attending the premiere which will be held on Thursday evening in Hyderabad

While Tollywood doesn’t revel in ‘premiere culture’, looks like superstar Kamal Haasan is going to change it with his Friday release ‘Cheekati Rajyam’.

Having already invited AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the special screening of his flick in Vijayawada this Thursday (morning), Kamal, we hear, is pulling out all stops to conduct a grand premiere in Hyderabad too on the same day. In this regard, he has already sent invitations to the big guns of Tollywood.

A source close to the development says, “Now that ‘Thoongaa Vanam’ (in Tamil) has opened to positive word of mouth across Tamil Nadu, Kamal is keen on the Telugu version attracting decent footfalls and hence decided to up the promotions.

Eminent faces like K Viswanath, Ramesh Prasad, Venkatesh and Rana have already accepted his premier invite. Invitations have also been dispatched to Nagarjuna, Amala and Ram Charan but they are yet to confirm their presence.”

The source adds, “The film’s support cast too—Prakash Raj, Trisha and Madhu Shalini— were told to make time for the premiere.” The source points out the event will take place at Prasad’s IMAX in Hyderabad.

“The action thriller’s director Rajesh M Selva and a team from Raaj Kamal Films are supervising the arrangements,” added the source further.
