Amitabh BachchanWith the decks being cleared for Ram Gopal Varma’s forthcoming’s release ‘Killing Veerappan’, the filmmaker dwells into the making of the film and his intention to make the thriller and his future Bollywood plans.

‘Killing Veerappan’ showcases the events that led to ‘Operation Cocoon’ and the modus-operandi to kill the dreaded sandalwood brigand. The mercurial filmmaker says that the stories he had listened about Veerappan prompted him to make a film.

“When I was shooting for ‘Kshana Kshanam’ in the Karnataka forests, I heard several stories about Veerappan, and when I was shooting for ‘Jungle’ in the same forest, I heard different stories. So the seed to make a film on him was sowed back then,” he reveals.

The director says that convincing Shivrajkumar did not need much coaxing. “When I told him the subject, he wanted to know what was new about the notorious killer that the whole world did not know.

However, when I revealed a few interesting details about the smuggler that I had gathered during my pre-production, Shivrajkumar was thrilled to star in the film.” Keeping his penchant for keeping details close to his heart, RGV did not dilvulge anything about those interesting details he had procured.

“I can’t tell you now. You have to see it on screen. In fact, these facts surprised several police officers, who were flummoxed that a Telugu guy knew more about Veerappan than the officers who had spent their entire manpopwer and police machinery to nab the elusive brigand,” he states.

The filmmaker a couple of days back has announced that he would be shifting base to Mumbai. “I’m someone who believes in instincts, which right now is compelling me to move over to Mumbai and resume my Bollywood career. This is one of the reasons why I have not taken up any Tollywood project,” points out RGV in typical style.

And here’s some news that ‘Sarkar’ fans can rejoice. The much-awaited ‘Sarkar 3’ will see the light of the day in June says the filmmaker. “‘Sarkar 3’ will go on floors in October. The script is almost ready,” he said. “Amitabh Bachchan, whom I had met with the script, has given his consent. The pre-production work has just started.”
