There are no 100-day and 150-day run for our films these days. They need to recover the entire investment within one week of its release. So our filmmakers look for a suitable time or festive season to grab the most theatres to get good returns. But this Sankranti season is not going to give a complete edge to any film in theatre count.

There are five films competing this season if one adds Vishal’s dubbing film ‘Kathakali’. Of all the films, NTR’s ‘Nannaku Prematho’ is the biggest and craziest film. Big films like ‘Dictator’ and ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ are also in the race.

So, none of these films is going to get more than 600 theatres each across Andhra and Telangana. This has put the makers in a dilemma as they may not recover the entire investment even if their films get positive report. If the film gets a bad talk by any chance, then that film will suffer huge losses.

If any film gets more theatres due to its craze then the other films will find it difficult to get theatres. Also films like ‘Nenu Sailaja’ and ‘Killing Veerappan’ will have some theatres. So, we have to wait and see how these films will battle this crisis.
