Wamiqa Gabbi excited to play a wrestler

Actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who made a praiseworthy debut with ‘Bhale Manche Roju’ last year, is all set to play a Punjabi wrestler in her Malayalam debut ‘Godha’, directed by Basil Joseph. The actress insists she can’t wait to prep up for the part.

“It’s different role and I’m someone who wants to do challenging roles. So when the role came my way, I was kicked about it. This is my debut film in Malayalam and playing a Punjabi girl is even more exciting as I’m from Punjab. It’s a sports rom-com based on wrestling.

I’ll go to Amritsar in April to train in wrestling and a woman wrestler has been roped in for the purpose,” elucidates Wamiqa. The film will go on floors in June and will be shot in Punjab and Kerala.
