Oopiri starring Nagarjuna, Karthi and Tamannaah has hit the theaters on Friday and is already garnering accolades from the cinegoers and critics. Remake of the French movie, The Intouchables, Oopiri has been made on a massive budget of Rs 50 crores with director Vamshi Paidipally spending more than a year to transform the script into a movie suiting the Telugu audience.
Produced by Prasad V Potluri under PVP Cinema banner, the movie released in two languages got over 1250 screens in the country and 350 screens across the globe making it to nearly 1600 screens worldwide. The distribution rights for the Telugu states have been sold for 13 crores. The opening Day Collection of Oopiri is estimated around 3.50 Crores and is expected to take a massive increase in the weekend as the audience have the liked the movie immensely. The overseas collections for the movie is learnt to be around Rs 3 crores.
