The locale is the Big Bad Apple and from the fancy Chrysler building fly the Ninja turtles. The city is in a mess after Super Shredder (Brain Tee) hires Stockman to create mutants of his own in the form of Bebop and Rocksteady and Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett) and April O’Neal (Megan Fox) out to restore normality.

Mickey (Noel Fisher), Leo (Johnny Knoxville), Raphael (Alan Ritchson) and Donnie (Jeremy Howard) are the Ninja turtles so important in this operation. In fact they seem to outnumber the humans. But director Dave Green has the unenviable task of wading through reels of trash and further handicapped by a listless script.

The turtles three secret weapons are said to be speed, steadfastness and honour. The honour surely fell to the floor of the editing room. As for the acting, less said the better. Megan Fox’s face is her fortune but the others hide under heavy make-up. The 115 minutes could have easily been clipped to 90 minutes. Today Hollywood badly needs a rationing of raw film stock.
