Sharad Kelkar dubs for Hollywood blockbusters!

That Sharad Kelkar is a talented and versatile actor is known to all, but not many know that he is immensely popular when it comes to dubbing for popular characters in Hollywood blockbusters, the latest being Star Trek Beyond!

The multi-talented actor has also lent his voice to characters in the Hindi-dubbed versions of several Hollywood hits including X Men: Apocalypse, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and Exodus: Gods And Kings.

Interestingly, Sharad who is known for his powerful screen presence and baritone has dubbed for the popular character Dr Leonard Bones McCoy from Star Trek Beyond.

Sharad says, “I like dubbing. That way, even though I am not acting in the movie, I still feel like I’m part of the film.”

The actor, who has proved his mettle as an actor with films like Goliyon Ki RaasLeela Ram Leela, Hero and Lai Bhaari, loves the fact that he gets a chance to play different parts while dubbing.

“I modulate my voice as per the character I am dubbing for. Besides, each character has its own manner of speaking. One has to retain that in the dubbed version too,” he adds.

Sharad recollects, “Amitabh Bachchan once said that no matter how you act while shooting for a scene, you can always improve it while dubbing for it. I feel dubbing is a crucial part of filmmaking.”

Not many know that Sharad also dubbed for south superstar Prabhas in the National award winning film, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali.
