Veteran film director and former Union Minister of State Dasari Narayana Rao on Wednesday was cremated with state honours at his farm house in Moinabad, 60 kms from Hyderabad.

Tollywood celebs, political leaders and common public gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects to the filmmaker who passed away on Tuesday in a private hospital after battling a prolonged illness. A police contingent presented with a gun salute after Dasari Narayana's eldest son Harihara Prabhu lit the funeral pyre. The ace director holds Limca World Record for directing the most films.

Film personalities such as Pawan Kalyan, Daggubati Venkatesh, Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, Narayana Murthy, Vijayachander, Raghvendra Rao, Naga Babu, Diarayana Murthy, Raghvendra Rao, Mohan Babu, Dil Raju, Krishna, Nassar and Trivikram Srinivas bid a tearful adieu to the director.

Dasari Narayana Rao's wife Padma, who died a couple of years ago had been cremated at the farm house and his cremation also was perfomed beside her grave.

From N.T. Rama Rao to Nagarjuna, the filmmaker worked with three generation of actors in 151 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. His famous movies include Premabhishekam, Megha Sandesham, Osey Ramulamma and Tata Manavadu among the many.
