Woman Murdered for Valuables; Watchman HeldHyderabad: A 32-year-old watchman was arrested on Wednesday accused of murdering an APTransco employee two days ago. West Zone police recovered two gold chains, four gold bangles, two ear studs and one gold ring all worth Rs 3.6 lakh from his possession. According to police, the P Sanyasi Rao, a native of Visakhapatnam district, murdered the deceased Durgalamma, 58, an employee of APTransco and a resident of Smarina Heights in Madhuranagar for easy money. Police said that the culprit borrowed lakhs of rupees from various persons in the city. In order to repay it he killed the woman and fled with her jewellery.

During interrogation, he revealed that he migrated to the city from Kothur, Visakhapatnam, for a better living and worked as a watchman at Smarina Heights for the last 10 years. He said on the fateful day, he forcefully took her to a vacant flat in the same apartment and strangulated her with a saree and robbed her of ornaments. He then hid her body in the bathroom and around 1 am on Tuesday, he dumped it on the ground floor and later informed the son of the deceased that his mother was found lying dead there. Police later produced the accused before a court.
