Lucknow: It seems that there is no end to the crime happening against the women in Uttar Pradesh in general and the nation as a whole. In yet another incident of crime against women in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the wife of an accused was allegedly raped by a sub-inspector and a constable inside a police station. Of late, the formal complaint was registered on Wednesday night, though this heinous incident has its roots as early as on Monday night.
The confirmation regarding this incident has been received from Hamirpur police superintendent Virendra Kumar Shekhar. According to him, the alleged incident took place on the prevailing night of June 9 and 10. He said that he was at Lucknow so he could have met the woman on Wednesday in person. Further, the SP said that appropriate action will be initiated against the accused duo – the SI and a constable of Sumerpur police station.
According to sources, the victim is the wife of a rowdy-sheeter and was sent to the jail by Sumerpur police on June 2. However, despite the fact he was released on bail, the police have detained him in the lock up and not let him go away. On that fateful night on June 9, the victim reached the police station and pleaded to release her spouse. As per the victims statement, the sub-inspector Rahul Pandey and constable Dinesh Kumar took the woman into a room inside the police station compound, in the pretext of talking to her and allegedly raped the woman.
