Hyderabad: A 38-year-old man committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at his residence on Sunday when his mother refused to give him for purchasing liquor, police said on Monday.

N Narasimha Reddy, a caterer, doused himself with kerosene and set ablaze at his Yapral residence. Police said he was a habitual drinker and stayed with his wife and two children. His mother, who stayed at Hanuman Nagar, came to his place four days ago. “Narasimha threatened his mother that he would take the extreme step after she refused to give him money to buy liquor. When his mother went out, he set himself ablaze,” cops said adding that no suicide note was recovered from the victim's possession,

He was immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
