to break into a liquor shop near Ayyappa Temple in the town.
The offenders attacked watchman Chandraiah and his assistant Devineni Srinivasulu, after the duo offered resistance. Srinivasulu was killed on the spot, while Chandraiah was hospitalised with serious injuries. Fifth Town CI Rajasekhar Reddy, who visited the spot, took up investigation.
