Sex racket busted; four arrested
The Special Operations Team (SOT) police on Sunday busted a sex racket and arrested four persons including the kingpin.
Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) police on Sunday busted a sex racket and arrested four persons including the kingpin. Police seized 5 cell phones and a bike from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided an apartment in Padmavathi Nagar in Uppal and arrested the culprits. The kingpin of the racket, who has been identified as Jaffar and stated to be from Bangladesh, used to bring girls from all over neighbouring States and push them into flesh trade. He was running the racket in collusion with three women staffer/organisers, the police said.
Police inquiries revealed that customers were contacting Jaffar through Internet and WhatsApp. “He would first gain confidence of the customer and later send photographs of the girls along with their age,” the cops said. A case was booked against them under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA).
