Man attempts to murder his wife in Meerpet

Hyderabad: The number of domestic violence cases is increasing by the hour in Hyderabad. A case of another alleged murder attempt was found in Meerpet.

A husband alleged tried to murder his wife suspecting her of fidelity, at their residence in Lenin Nagar of Meerpet.

Going into the details, the accused stabbed his wife with a sharp weapon and hit her on the head with an iron rod. Later he tried to kill himself. Both were seriously injured and have been shifted to the hospital. The accused Yellaiah, 49, works as a scavenger at Reserve Bank of India near Lakdikapul. The victim, Renuka, 40, is a home maker. They have a son. According to the Meerpet police, Yellaiah suspected that Renuka was having an extramarital affair with one of his brothers. On Thursday morning, the couple had an argument.

According to police, “Following a heated argument, an agitated Yellaiah picked up a sharp weapon and iron rod and attacked her. He stabbed her and hit Renuka hard on head with the iron rod. Both sustained injuries,” said C. Venkataiah
