Guwahati: Security forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition of NDFB(S) from Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on Sunday, officials said.

Assam police, army and NIA had jointly launched operation at the remote inter state bordering area and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition of NDFB(S).
A top official of NIA said that the recovery was made on the basis of the disclosure made by the arrested accused Ajoi Basumutary alias B Buhum who is the self styled commander of 3rd battalion of NDFB(S) and Ajoi was involved in the recent massacre in Sonitpur district killing 36 innocent adivasi people including children and women.
Security forces recovered two AK-56 rifles, one HK-33 rifle, two hand grenades, one M-20 pistol, two HK magazines, five AK magazines, 3 rounds M-20 ammunition, one M-16 ammunition, 123 rounds 5.56mm, 223 AK rounds, three ammunition pouches from the area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
On other hand security forces arrested a hardcore cadre of NDFB(S) from Barpeta.
The arrested militant was identified as D Swargiary.
