Police seized 60 red sanders logs worth Rs 50 lakh from a lorry and took three persons into custody near Vontimitta in the early hours of Thursday while they were conducting vehicle checks based on a tip-off. Sub-Inspector Suresh Reddy said that they came across a lorry which was proceeding to Tirupati from Kadapa while they were checking vehicles.
Kadapa: Police seized 60 red sanders logs worth Rs 50 lakh from a lorry and took three persons into custody near Vontimitta in the early hours of Thursday while they were conducting vehicle checks based on a tip-off. Sub-Inspector Suresh Reddy said that they came across a lorry which was proceeding to Tirupati from Kadapa while they were checking vehicles. “On seeing police personnel, driver tried to flee without stopping at check point,” he added. The SI said that the police chased the lorry and caught three persons, including the driver. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
