Hyderabad: The doctors at Gandhi hospital on Wednesday successfully extracted the gold chain out of the thief’s stomach that was swallowed about three days ago while being caught after commission of offense. On August 15, Vikas (22) snatched a chain from a 55-year-old woman when she was on evening walk along with her husband at Sitaphalmandi railway station.

The couple immediately approached the General Railway Police at Secunderabad who alerted their counterparts. Later, he was caught by the Chilkalguda police at Secunderabad Railway Station on the same day, when he was moving suspiciously at the premise. Feared of getting caught, Vikas swallowed the gold chain when moved nearer to him. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital by the police.

The scanning reports said that the chain was found in the lower portion of Vikas’s stomach and the doctors advised natural extraction instead of a surgery to extract the gold chain. Vikas was later produced in the Court along with the scanning reports and was admitted to Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad following the Court’s orders.
