Hyderabad: An 18-year-old boy succumbed to stab injuries and three others suffered minor injuries when a psycho ruthlessly attacked passers-by in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The incident took place in NBT Nagar of Banjara Hills, which is located at a stone’s throw from the high-security residential area of MLAs and ministers.

At around 5.15 pm, a man, who was in an inebriated condition came onto the main road on Road No. 12 and stabbed Bala Raju (26), Shaik Bablu (18) and Mahesh (35) and Jagan (20), residents of NBT Nagar, and fled from the spot.

During the attack, Bablu was stabbed in the stomach, and the others suffered minor injuries. On noticing the incident, the passers-by informed the police.

Banjara Hills ACP Uday Kumar Reddy and inspector Murali Krishna along with their staff rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to Osmania Hospital for treatment.

During preliminary investigation, the police identified the accused as Syed Arbaaz (21), an auto driver and resident of Syed Nagar of Banjara Hills.

The accused was addicted to liquor, ganja and other sedatives. He always used to indulge in fights with his neighbours, the police said. He is said to have consumed whitener under whose affect he went on a stabbing spree.
