2 child labourers rescued
Two child workers were rescued from Blue Diamond Hotel at Basheerbagh on Saturday. On a tip off, Balala Hakkula Sangam along with officials of the Labour Department and Child Line raided the hotel and rescued two children, Sunil and Subhash, aged 14 years.
Hyderabad: Two child workers were rescued from Blue Diamond Hotel at Basheerbagh on Saturday. On a tip off, Balala Hakkula Sangam along with officials of the Labour Department and Child Line raided the hotel and rescued two children, Sunil and Subhash, aged 14 years.
According to the Balala Hakkula Sangam, children were brought from Nepal by the hotel management. The rescued children were sent to Boys’ Home by the child line. Police arrested hotel manager Luis John under Child Labour Prohibition Act and Illegal trafficking Act.
Balala Hakkula Sangam president Anuradha Rao said it was high time that the government woke up and acted against employers of child labour. “The children are ill-treated and were made to work for long hours without providing proper food,” she said.
