Hyderabad: Oxford School, LB Nagar donated raw rice and Rs 5,000 to Gruha Vidyalaya, an orphanage centre in Chitralekha estate recently. Students of the school follow tradition of donating rice and provisions on their birthdays. The school hands over the collection to the orphanage.

Oxford School Principal Neeraja promised to donate Rs 500 every month from her behalf. She spoke to the inmates of the orphanage and encouraged them to excel in studies and extracurricular activities. Students of Oxford are encouraged to extend their hands to the needy, she added. The principal lauded the inmates of the orphanage for their discipline and the organisers for properly maintaining the centre. Srinivas, English faculty of Oxford School, said he would extend support to the centre by conducting free English classes.
