The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of UN has nominated Dr. Brajendra as one of the 27 top global soil experts from the world onto the panel of UNFAO-GSP Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (ITPS) by the third Plenary Assembly, which was held at FAO Headquarters from 22- 24 June 2015, for a period of two years.

The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of UN has nominated Dr. Brajendra as one of the 27 top global soil experts from the world onto the panel of UNFAO-GSP Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (ITPS) by the third Plenary Assembly, which was held at FAO Headquarters from 22- 24 June 2015, for a period of two years.


Dr Brajendra has also been invited by UNFAO to participate in the ITPS meeting at Italy Rome from 14th September to 18th September, 2015 from Asia for developing global soil partnerships pillars of action. It may be remembered that, the year 2015 has been declared By UN as Year of Soils.

Brajendra is currently working as Senior Scientist, soil science, at the Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), Hyderabad, India, having more than 15 years of experience in research, developing soil technologies, soil extension and popularizing the sciences among the masses and making it accessible to the common people.

He has a distinction of championing several technologies such as rapid soil health testing kit for acid and saline, saline-sodic soils, online e -soil health card generation system, a decision support system for economizing fertilizer doses based on soil tests, utilizing GIS and remote sensing techniques for developing site specific mineral mixtures for small and marginal dairy farmers, invoking site specific integrated nutrient management, and soil test and crop response techniques for yield gap analysis, agronomic fortifying techniques for in situ manufacturing/testing of mineral enriched composts(MEC) and low cost molecules for fortifying Iron and Zinc in rice.
