New CBI JD takes charge

Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer S Arunachalam, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Joint Director (JD) of Chennai zone, on Saturday took charge as the in-charge Joint Director of Hyderabad zone.Arunachalam was given additional charge after V V Lakshminarayana was transferred on June 7 and sent back to his parent cadre Maharashtra after completion of seven years of deputation with CBI. Immediately after taking charge, Arunachalam reportedly asked DIG H Venkatesh to brief him about the status of investigation in ongoing cases, particularly the high profile ones. He will hold additional charge until a regular posting is made. The 1993 batch IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre refused to meet the media persons saying that the manual did not permit him to do so.
