New CPI chiefs for both States, CPI State Committee, MLA Chada Venkata Reddy, State secretaries. According to sources, Ramakrishna and Muppalla Nageswara Rao who belong to Guntur tried for the top post, but eventually it was Ramakrishna from Anantapur who was chosen.

Hyderabad: The CPI State Committee on Sunday nominated former MLA Chada Venkata Reddy and Kaka Ramakrishna for the posts of State secretaries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively. The decision was taken after series of meetings that the party leadership held in the recent days.

According to sources, Ramakrishna and Muppalla Nageswara Rao who belong to Guntur tried for the top post, but eventually it was Ramakrishna from Anantapur who was chosen. The current State secretary, K Narayana, will be the ‘coordinator’ for both the states. The party will be making official announcement in this regard only after June 2.

At present, the party’s election committee has former MP Aziz Pasha, Chada Venkata Reddy, Gunda Mallesh, MLA, P Venkata Reddy, K Sambasiva Rao, V Ramnarshimha Rao for Telangana and P J Chandrasekhar Rao, K Ramakrishna, J Wilson, J V Satyanarayana Murthy, M Nageshwara Rao, E Nageshwara Rao, Vanaja and K Aruna for Andhra Pradesh.
