Lokesh to start campaigning from April 12

Hyderabad: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh is set to campaign for the party ahead of the Assembly and Parliament elections in the State. According to the party sources, he will kick-start his election campaign from Krishna district on April 12 and will tour in Seemandhra and Telangana in a phased manner. Though Naidu initially wanted to confine the activities of Lokesh to backroom operations, he had changed his mind and wanted Lokesh to address meetings so that he could attract youth, said party leaders. In fact, Lokesh wanted to undertake a cycle yatra from Hindupur in Anantapur district from February 16 to motivate the party cadres and attract youth. However, he had to put off his yatra following the process of division of the State. The TDP chief’s son has been playing the 'backroom boy' role in the party for several months by supervising the surveys being conducted by the party leadership to finalise party candidates for the elections.
