TRS adopts different strategy
TRS Adopts Different Strategy, Telangana Rashtra Samithi held back official announcement of its party nominees for 10 Assembly and 1 MP constituency until four hours after the expiry of deadline for filing of nominations on Wednesday.
- Holds back official announcement of left-over candidates till evening
- They, however, were given B-forms to file nominations
In an unexpected move, Telangana Rashtra Samithi held back official announcement of its party nominees for 10 Assembly and 1 MP constituency until four hours after the expiry of deadline for filing of nominations on Wednesday. Party sources, however, gave a leak to news channels, which flashed names of shortlisted party nominees since morning. TRS, it is understood, took to this stand to thwart rebel menace and protests by ticket seekers in front of party office. Speculations were rife that TRS was busy holding discussions with turncoats in few segments and hence the final list was kept on hold. When contacted earlier, TRS sources replied that it might be out any time before Tuesday midnight. This however did not happen.
Nevertheless the finalized candidates were issued B-form well in advance by the party. And they too fully co-operated with the leadership by rushing to their respective constituencies and complete nomination formalities in time, and without making much noise. It may be mentioned here that TRS declared names of candidates for 109 Assembly and 16 MP constituencies in various phases until Tuesday.
