Election Commission Notices to Lagadapati, News Channels, The Election Commission has begun cracking the whip on those coming out with exit polls. It has served notices to former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for his poll predictions on news channels on Saturday.
Hyderabad: The Election Commission has begun cracking the whip on those coming out with exit polls. It has served notices to former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for his poll predictions on news channels on Saturday. EC which felt that this amounted to violation of Election Code also gave notices to 10 channels.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal warned of stringent action against the leaders who violate the model code of conduct which would be in force till May 16. He said that the electronic media should stop airing poll campaign news from Monday 4 pm when the campaign would come to an end. The EC also directed the police to file a case against former minister Uttam Kumar Reddy for violating the election code by allegedly transporting Rs 2.5 crore in a vehicle registered in his name to lure voters in Huzurnagar Assembly segment in Nalgonda district on April 30.
