All the 63 MLAs turned up for the meeting. Station Ghanpur MLA T Rajaiah proposed KCR’s name as the legislature party leader. It was seconded by senior leaders Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Etela Rajender, Kadiam Srihari, Koppula Eshwar, Srinivas Goud and Kova Lakshmi among others. All the MLAs unanimously supported the proposal. Later, addressing the newly elected MLAs for over an hour, Rao urged them to be honest and simple and work with dedication for the welfare of people. He advised them not to accept garlands and hold big rallies during their programmes.
