Sharmila lashes out at Congress and TDP

Guntur: Sister of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Sharmila lashed out at the Telugu Desam Party and the Congress Party for conniving with each other to keep her brother YS Jaganmophan Reddy in prison for the last 11 months. Addressing a public meeting at Guntur town on Friday, Sharmila asked Chandrababu Naidu as to why the TDP was opposing the no-confidence motion against the government if he was against the Congress misrule. She said that the TDP would be wiped out from the state in the next general elections. Coming down heavily on Chandrababu Naidu, Sharmila said that Naidu sold himself to the Congress to escape from enquiries into his misdeeds. She said that it was a great misfortune for the people of the state that they have an inefficient and corrupt government and a worthless Opposition party. Sharmila said it was her father the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who strived to provide 5 % reservations to the minorities, and if the Centre does not agree to it, the credit for providing 4 % reservations to the minorities goes solely to YSR. She said Chandrababu was spreading falsehoods on the late YSR that the latter did not do anything for the farmers but everybody in the state knows that YSR did take several measures for the welfare of the farmers. She lamented that industries were being shut down in the state and lakhs of employees were rendered jobless.
