Innocent man beaten up

Mangalagiri(Guntur): In a tragic incident, an innocent man suffering from mental disorder and instability was beaten up by the local people of Sitanagaram of Tadepalli mandal, assuming him to be a psycho here on Friday. In the past, the same person was forced out of Sitanagaram area on allegations of erroneous and irrational behaviour with the people. In the wake of his return to the area, he allegedly misbehaved with a woman who was passing by. The woman, assuming him to be a psycho has complained to the police at the check post near the barrage. But by the time police arrived, the locals have thrashed him up. Upon inquiry, police found out that he was from Assam State and was suffering from mental instability. He was shifted to government hospital for medical supervision. The police registered a case of Mental Health Act against him and took up investigation.
