Babu bailed out govt: Sharmila

Mangalagiri (Guntur): Targeting Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu for ``bailing out'' the Congress government in the State during the recent no-confidence motion in the Assembly, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Sharmila here on Saturday said that the 'inefficient rule' of the Congress party would have come to an end had the main opposition party acted in favour of 'people's interest'. Babu shied away from voting as he had 'colluded' with the Congress, she said. Sharmila said the motion in the House against the government would have been easily won had the TDP voted in favour of the move. Sharmila trained her guns on Babu to project him as 'back-stabber'. ``Anybody aware of Babu's history cannot expect him to act for the welfare of the people. He is identified with the famous coup to dethrone his own father-in-law and party founder NT Rama Rao due to his hunger for power,'' Sharmila spat fire. Sharmila's tirade against Babu was fuelled by her party's abortive attempt (by supporting the motion) to pull down the Congress regime that 'watered down' welfare schemes introduced by her late father Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. She minced no words in blaming the government for the present power crisis. Sharmila organised a special sitting to hear problems of people as part of her ongoing Maro Praja Prasathanam at Sringarapuram. She promised the people to provide toilet for every household once her brother YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the founder of the YSRCP, who is under custody of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in disproportionate assets case, comes to power with the sole agenda of implementing schemes introduced by their late father.
