K Siva ReddyA literary programme, Kadile Kalama, was organised by the X-Ray Cultural and Literature Academy, on Sunday.

The academy has been organising literary meetings on the first Sunday of every month for the past 15 years to encourage budding Telugu writers and poets. It also provides an opportunity to young writers and poets to share their thoughts with litterateurs.

Sahitya Akademi Award recipient K Siva Reddy said that young writers and poets should strive to enlighten the society through their literary works.

“Writers and poets should focus on social issues to awaken the masses, which would help eradicate evils in the society. The literary works should be easy to understand even by common people,” he said. X-Ray Cultural Academy city convener S Ashok Kumar, treasurer Ch V Subbaiah, writer and senior journalist Sarvajith, poet K Ravi Kiran and others were present at the event.
