Mayor Koneru Sridhar and the Vijayawada East Constituency MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao handed over a cheque of Rs 1.19 crore to 34 women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Krishnalanka area. Andhra Bank, Krishnalanka Branch, and Bank of India, Governorpet Branch, extended the loans to the members of SHGs. The Mayor and the legislator asked women to make use of the loans. They added that the government was committed to empowering women and would extend all possible support for their development.
