The Annual Sports and Awards Day of N St Mathew’s Public School (NSM) was celebrated with gaiety on Monday. The school campus was decorated with colorful ribbons and flags for the annual event.
The Annual Sports and Awards Day of N St Mathew’s Public School (NSM) was celebrated with gaiety on Monday. The school campus was decorated with colorful ribbons and flags for the annual event. Kindergarten and primary students dressed up in fancy attires participated in the celebrations adding colour to the fete. Jingle Bells, Miss NSM, Formula One Race, Scooping out the Balls and Persian Pots games were held for kindergarten students. The peacock dance performed by them left the spectators spellbound.
Primary students competed in events like Let’s Scoot, Patience Pace, United We Stand, Let’s Have Fun, A Fancy for a Dress, Glad Tiding in the Ear, Dancing Damsel, Copying Kangaroos, Hula Hoop, Pom-Pom Drill and other events.
Highlighting the rich diversity of the country, students participated in a mass drill wearning vibrant dresses. They stood in the formation of the national flag as a gesture of proclaiming ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’. A special ballet to promote ‘Health is Wealth’ was performed by students who swayed to the music in yoga postures. The event lifted the spirits when students performed a dance depicting Swachh Bharat, anti-corruption and other social themes. Parachute dance with about 100 students and ‘Synchronise Walk’ with 80 students were the highlights of the event. Students also performed western dances, solo dance and classical dance ballets to enthrall the gathering. The parents witnessed the spectacular show put up by their children to mark Sports Day.
School principal Bro Chinnapa Reddy said, “Education has to be spread and shared and that will be the ultimate aim of being educated. Education is only complete when a child is nurtured in all walks. Holistic education is the much needed requisite for tomorrow’s society.”
MLA Gadde Rammohan along with his wife and Krishna Zilla Parishad chairperson Anuradha and Department of Telecommunications, Vijayawada, director Vara Prasad inaugurated the event. Vice-principal Bro VV Jose, teaching and non-teaching staff were present.
